A social app for close friends only
Most social apps are built to grow your audience. Nowvibe is built for the people you'd actually call. There are no followers, no public posts and no ads: just your friends and what they're up to right now.
Adding friends
Send a group link to your group chat: everyone who joins becomes friends with each other, up to the size you pick. Or share your own invite link, show your QR code or give out your six-character friend code. Requests from people who share no friends with you go to Filtered, and you can choose to only get requests from friends of your friends.
Meeting friends of friends, only if you want to
Turn on “Show me to friends of friends” and you'll see people who share a friend with you and have the same vibe right now. Until you both wave, each of you sees only an emoji or a letter, the vibe and the friends you share: never a name or a photo. A friend can also introduce two people, and it takes two yeses. A “not now” is never shared.
Nothing for creeps to work with
- Nobody can send you anything before you're friends.
- People you meet through Nowvibe don't see your message link (WhatsApp, Instagram and so on) until you share it with them.
- Meeting new people needs an account at least a day old and two friends, and “Need company”, “Busy” and “Sleeping” are never shown to anyone new.
- Blocking is instant and silent, and reporting takes one tap.
- Two reports from different people within a month take someone out of meeting people.
Stay close without trying
Next to each friend, a campfire counts the days this week you both reached out. It fades a day at a time instead of vanishing at midnight, so one busy day never wipes it out.
